Michael
Director/Instructor
Michael trained in dance at London Studio Centre and worked as a dancer across the UK and Europe before discovering aerial and his love for all things upside down!
He can usually be found on the aerial silks, sometimes with Kiah in their aerial double act, but is equally as happy on the hoop and trapeze!
Michael completed his aerial instructor training with Serenity Smith Forchion from Nimble Arts and is also a certified Acrobatic Arts and Alixa Flexibility instructor.
In 2016 he placed 3rd at the International Pole and Aerial Tournament in the advanced category and 2nd at the Uk Aerial Performance Championships. Michael loves creating and coaching routines for competitions!
Michael set up Aerial Dance Days in 2017 - taking aerial workshops to dance schools all over the country. This then developed in to Aerial Dance Academy, a centre for all things aerial and Circus in Portsmouth where he can share his love and knowledge of all things upside down!
Kiah
Instructor
Kiah started her aerial adventure in 2015, where she met Michael during one of her first hoop lessons!
Silks and Hoop will always be her true love but Kiah has experience in straps, pole, rope, aerial chandelier and has just invested in aerial chains and an aerial sphere, which she is very excited to get upside down on!

Kiah completed her teacher training at Flying Fantastic in London.

Kiah is happiest in the air and the people she has met along the way have become friends for life.
She is super excited to transfer her knowledge and passion of something that has changed her life so much to everyone she teaches.

Kat’s Hatha Vinyasa flow classes follow this system, with a strong emphasis on breath work, bandha, pranayama and meditation. Sophie
Hoop Instructor
I started aerial hoop back in 2013 at Paradise Fitness (where everyone seems to have started!) and fell in love with the discipline as an excellent form of exercise and a wonderful way to express yourself. After a break of quite a few year and trying out various other fitness regimes, I have found my way back to aerial hoop at Aerial Dance Academy. On the ground I can trip over my on feet but in the hoop I actually feel graceful and elegant. I enjoy figuring how moves can fit together, to create a flow of movement that challenges the body and brain. Being able to share this with other through teaching has been a really wonderful experience and I hope that students enjoy it as much as I do!
